Exterior Specification:
Gel Coat:
The hard, protective outer gel coat gives a smooth gloss finish and is available in six stunning translucent colours clear carbon black, deep blue, deep green, golden amber, red and a purple-ish magenta.
All of these colours show off the stunning, high-tech look of the carbon weave.
Composite Shells:
Designed to have an extremely high degree of
structural rigidity, the shells are manufactured by hand using both carbon fibre and Kelvar which saves lots of weight while benefitting from the rigidity gained from reinforcement with an Airtex hard foam material.
These aerospace grade materials are impregnated with a tough epoxy resin.
4 Leather Handles:
Three standard handles and one large real leather luggage handle
allow the case to be picked up comfortably from any position or pulled along on the wheels.
4 Metal Handles:
These heavy duty, spring loaded handles are there for lifting the
case horizontally as if loading into a car, and tuck away nicely when not needed.
PVC Edge Trim:
This non-scratch PVC trim ensures easy closing
and is hard wearing and fully rain-proof.
Non-Slip Rubber Bumps:
These will protect and stablise the case when in an upright
(vertical) position and when the case is placed on its side on the floor, it has more bumps on the side of the case opposite of the
luggage handle ensuring that no part of the case comes into contact with the ground.
Scuff Strips:
These will protect the case from contact with the ground when the case
is placed on its back. Many more strips provide added protection from the case coming into contact with surfaces.
Hinges:
Two heavy duty steel hinges allow the lid to open smoothly and close securely.
11 Toggle Catches:
Heavy duty rubber toggle catches ensure a secure fitting
of the lid to the base of the case. They are fully UV resistant.
Security:
Every double bass case has 1 metal latch which is positioned centrally
for easy access to the lock. It is supplied with a padlock and two keys as standard.
4 Heavy Duty Wheels:
These high load bearing wheels are smooth on the move
and tough for bumps and stairs.
Interior Specification:
Soft Crushed Velour:
Double bass cases are exquisitely hand lined with soft, crushed velour fabric,
it is attractive and luxurious to touch but most importantly kind to your instrument.
Available in Navy Blue, Deep Green, Wine Red and Silver Grey.
Protective Padding:
Dual density, layered foam cushions the body of the back of
the instrument. Five Padded pouches also filled with foam are upholstered in the same fabric as the rest of the interior,
and can be easily attached by Velcro strips to support your instrument on the upper and lower bouts.
The entire system is designed to give a snug protective fit to your precious instrument, regardless of the instrument size variations.
Stable Lid Opening:
A webbing strap is fixed between the lid and the base of the case
at the neck point, which allows the lid to be retained in its fully open position when the case is on its back.
5 Webbing Belts:
Fastening across the upper bout, the lower bout and the middle, your
instrument can be secured safely when the case is open and upright.
5 Belt Covers:
These cover the webbing belts where they may touch the instrument.
1 Neck Belt:
A leather neck belt completes the well balanced support needed to keep
the instrument in place when the case is open in the vertical position.
2 Bow Holders:
Draw string bow holders are located in the lid of the case as well as 2
pockets for the base of bows to rest in, so that when you are on the move there is no way any part of the bow can touch
the instrument.
Storage:
A handy storage box is located in the neck of the case for strings or rosin etc.
